主讲人简介：As Associate Professor of Computer Science, Dr Lily Sun lectures in Computer Science and Information Systems, at Department of Computer Science, University of Reading, UK since 2002. She obtained a bachelor degree in Computer Science 1986, and worked as a senior software engineer and systems analyst till 1988. Then she continued to peruse higher academic qualifications under the Dutch Royal scholarship in the Netherlands for a master degree in geographic information systems, and British Research funding in the UK for a PhD in strategic information systems.
Dr Sun has 20 years working experience in the UK universities and many years of experience working as an IT consultant in research and commercial projects. Amongst over 80 journal and conference publications, and 20 graduated and 2 ongoing PhD students, her research work can be found from complex systems design, requirements engineering, ontology modelling, information architecture and information provision, knowledge representation and user profiling for personalisation, enterprise modelling, conceptualization and strategic use of big data analytics, and decision support. She is distinctively recognized by her excellent leadership and involvement in bringing research to industrial applications. She has acted as the lead academic or key expert in 10 projects that are sponsored by the Technology Strategic Board and EPSRC, UK.
Dr Sun leads and teaches a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the University of Reading. She also plays an important role as the external examiner to the other 6 UK universities where she is responsible for auditing the quality of their academic programmes and examining the PhD thesis.
Dr Sun was the Director of Postgraduate Research Studies 2006-2010, and is the Director of International Programmes in the School since 2010 to support the university’s international collaborations in Higher Education. She plays various senior roles, such as Programme Advisor in her own school and Henley Business School.
